Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah assassinated in Beirut

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah was assassinated in Beirut on Friday after Israel targeted him as he met with senior commanders in an underground bunker.

The attack came just over a week after Israel allegedly blew up thousands of Hezbollah pagers and handheld radios remotely, killing tens of Hezbollah operatives and wounding many more.

Nasrallah was the central figure in the terrorist group’s hierarchy since 1992 after Israel assassinated its leader, Abbas al-Musawi. Nasrallah used the position to build up a large armed force and amass a massive rocket arsenal to be used against Israel.

Hezbollah is an Iranian proxy, financed and armed by the Islamic regime centered in Tehran.

After Nasrallah’s killing, the international community including the UK, France, and the United States, are worried that the Middle East conflict will spread, generating even more chaos and bloodshed.

Several leaders, including U.S. President Joe Biden, have called on Israel to deescalate the conflict to avoid a larger regional war.
